be Nippon - This store will help you find a number of items in Japan and then ship them to you.

DannyChoo.com - This page has all kinds of articles on life in Japan and otaku hobbies.
Anime Nation - I haven’t bought anything from them in a while but it’s a pretty nice place to shop.
Animebooks.com - A good place to look for books from Japan.
Hobby Link Japan - I shop here often. A lot of people get their model kits here but I buy books.

Big Bad Toystore.com - Another excellent U.S.-based retailer of domestic and imported mecha action figures & model kits. Take advantage of their $4.99 flat shipping if you live in the U.S.

Mandarake - The shipping prices can be high but these guys are an excellent source for old or out of print books/manga.
Nikaku Animart - They're a little slow getting in new books but I buy a fair amount of Japanese manga here.
Otaku.com - Another place to shop. These guys can track down lots of things - old or new.
Operation Gundam - An online store for model builders.
Robert's Corner Anime Store - I haven't shopped here but it looks like a decent place.
Toyspress - It's difficult for people outside of Japan to order from this site but it's a great source of information on stuff related to The Five Star Stories.

Mecha

Mecha Damashii - This blog focuses on mecha video games but branches out to other areas as well. Worth a look!

MAHQ - This massive site covers Gundam very well and other mecha shows as well. Check out their Dragon’s Heaven section!

The Gunbuster Index - A great site for images and information on Gunbuster (Aim for the Top!).
MechaScientific Wiki - This wiki on mecha has started off with Advance of Zeta and will cover other mecha shows in the future.

Funbolt - A Japanese message board where artists post their mecha images. There's some real quality stuff to be found here.
Zinc Panic - A fun and informative site that maintains a sort of database on numerous mecha shows.

Starship Dimensions - An excellent collection of starship images from anime and western science-fiction showing relative sizes.

Starship Schematic Database - A great collection of detailed starship schematics.
Mecha Outpost - Interesting articles on mecha.

The Jeeg Page - An Italian page with a nice selection of 3D graphics models of mecha.

Official Gundam Web Site - The official English language site for Gundam. Check out their glossary of Gundam terms. I think this is the official Japanese site.

Gundam Project Links - This remainder of Mark Simmons' Gundam Project has lots of great Gundam links.

Gundam Weapons - A well-done site with cool CG art.
