Newtype scans of Five Star Stories manga is real popular with FSS fans so I'll help out. You guys can send the files to me and I'll load them up for all to see.

Rubel Colus.... You can email April/July'04 as an email attachment to me.
Though if you could sent just the FSS portion of Newtype that would be great.

I could also do the same for you if you include your email and check 'display email address' in your profile, each FSS issue should only be about 3Mb.

Tachyon. I think it'd be a great idea to post the FSS portions somewhere.
Though I wouldn't want this board to end up just being used to host scans.
I have every episode except April/July '04 and I would be happy to up them for you.

I love this board layout btw. I only just found the inbuilt private messaging. Nice...

PS. Tachyon. Is it really worth having a seperate FSS Chat ? I mean. Isn't this board just that ?

PPS. I would also add, that if we are going to get serious about vol.12
Some talented bilingual should have a crack at translating them.
I'd even settle with a synopsis.
Come to think of it, I still don't know what half of vol.10 and 11 are about !

This message board is PHPbb version 2.0.4. Version 2.2 will be here in a few months and it should add some nice features. It's free so I'll probably upgrade soon after it's available.

My hosting package was upgraded so I have a good amount of storage space available now. Showing the Newtype manga scans here on the message board is possible but I don't think it's the best solution. The FSS section of Gears Online is up even though it isn't officially "launched" yet. It would be quick and easy to add a new link to the navigation pane for "Newtype Scans." That Web page could hold all the Newtype scans arranged by date and provide FSS fans with easier navigation. Then I could put links to that page into message board posts to let people know when a new one is up.

As for translators... I would really like to have a translator helping here at Gears Online. If anyone can help me recruit one I'd really appreciate it. There's a Japanese woman at Wax Trax who likes doing some translating. Perhaps one of you guys can talk to her about helping out?

As for separate message boards... Wax Trax is a message board attached to David Colton's FSS Web site. It's been around for a while and has its own group of people. When I heard Wax Trax might have to close down I offered the Wax Trax crowd help here at Gears Online. I thought it would be nice to have a section of this message board for Wax Trax/Five Star Stories. That way the Wax Trax crowd (of which I like to think I'm a member) can continue their conversations and look for new posts without having to scan the whole message board - just look for the red lights within the FSS section. Because it's a section of a larger message board it becomes easier for new people to learn about FSS and become part of the Wax Trax crowd.

If the Wax Trax people decide they really want their own, separate message board then either me or Coby can set that up. We'll see what the Wax Trax people want.

I hope we can have one message board since english-speaking FSS fans are so few.

BTW, I've just sent my scans to both Tachyon and Hydro, but I dunno if it went thru. Prolly filesize too big. Can some1 help/guide me so that I can upload my scans to some web storage space? Need more than 50MB space if I were to include the vol 11 scans (which are 40+MB).

Thanks

I got the .zip file from you. I just need to visit my computer to download it. I can take lots of files from you but I'll need to take them 1 or 2 at a time.

I'm in the process of moving. In a week or 2 I won't have to visit my computer anymore; I'll have it right in my own home.

I'm looking forward to having a good Newtype Scans page.

Man, check out the Siren-R in the Background.
I wish there was a close up (how could they not take a photo ! It must be the only Siren-R in existance)

Here are some bigger pictures, but it looks like the guy was just a bit short in time^^, it's a bit too smoothed IMHO :

And some other picture from wonder fest 2004 I think, I'm not sure if it's the same event as FAC or not.

More Gastness (this one is 1/144) :

Wow. Thankyou so much for the links.

The Siren-R looks beautiful, I quite like the angles.

Gastness temple looks great also, nice contrast, all curves.

Woah!

The Red Phantom and Flamberge Temple are gorgeous!!!!

Of course, the Neptune is very lovely, as always.

And this is the first time I've seen a model for the Calvary R. Looks good. Looks damn good!

Agreed. The Cavalry R, and Gastness Temple are both fantastic.

Are any of these kits available mailorder ? HLJ doesn't seem to stock them.

Mmh I've seen the Calvary R on e2046

The Last Junchoon and Silicon Tribe Phantom are available here :
http://www.chromehead.co.kr/ (link found on heavyarmour studio again, if you want the latest infos in english on MH kits, I guess it's the best place on the net^^, some guys on H.A.S. have bought an original and may recast it I think : Look here

They also sell a phanom with custom parts to create either the red or black phantoms, which have slight differences with the white.

I don't know for the others.

Actually, I'm one of the guy who got the Last Junchoon and plan on recasting it later :D .

Silicon Tribe's Phantom look odd to me...Volks still has the surperior Phantom kit http://knightclub.cool.ne.jp/mh/mh.html , http://www.geocities.jp/natumaru_01/fa.html , and http://www.geocities.co.jp/Playtown-Rook/7814/ri.html .

Hydra Mirage: Nope, you won't find most of these kits in HLJ. FAC is an event that granted others who does not have the license to market FSS kits a one day sale at the event with a limited number of kits. YahooJapan is the hotspot where you might find some of these kits.
