WSC Engage SR-3 comic ver.

Post by Sheizzel » Wed Oct 25, 2006 4:49 pm

WSC finally updated their site with pictures of the new SR-3. Is it just me or does this one have a different and better proportioning than the original SR-3?

It does look a lot better. I just wish the design didn't have that lame looking arm mounted gun. The original design was nicer.

Since the arm can be rised, this is not the std. fixed pose from WSC.
If you buy a pet from pet stores , you are encouraging those breeders to breed more. This is the condition that they lives in:

Since when are WSC kits fixed pose? They are usually free pose.

And who said the arm can be raised? It's much more likely that they built a couple copies of the kit in different poses.

I love the new proportions: nowhere as chunky as the first, and not overly-lanky. I think I'll be picking this one up.

Wasn't WSC also working on a Berlin SR2?

Yes. And an Ashura Temple Prototype 03 as well.

IF the pattern of competition continues, then it is highly possible that Volks has a better one come out a few mth. after WSC rel.

What pattern of competition?

The last 2 WSC releases (Gastness and Flamberge) have not been one-upped by Volks (so far).

And the last 2 Volks releases (Luminous Mirage and Engage Sr1 comic version) have nothing to do with WSC releases.

Since Volks hasn't even released the Calvary R yet, it's not likely that they will be dropping a comic version Engage Sr3 on us any time soon.

"What pattern of competition? "

The one in his mind, no doubt.

I think it's great that both firms are focussing on their own releases; things have been too quiet lately and I welcome the variety of kits coming our way.

Truth be told, they probably realised (collectively) that it's bad for business for each of them to release the same MHs too close together.

Been awaiting this since it was first mentioned quite a while ago. Very impressed with the SR3, but I like the design so there's a lot of bias.
Prefer the fore-arm mounted "gun", looks like it even has a weapon blocker incorporated as well. The original lance type design didnt look all that practical.. maybe he wanted similarity to the Colus Junchoon/Berlin Spires, who knows.?
Imho WSC versions have always been better on detail but less appealing on proportion/design (compared to say Volks). This however looks a lot better, moreso than expected. Glad I held off on the FAC release....

Wow, Fastrun got his already. More details and better looking, imo.

Fastrun put that "Commander" along w/ the rest of the FSS. What on earth is Commander?

You brought up the same question which was answered in this thread.

.
Now that you mentioned it, what a big difference the no. of kits Volks rel. this yr. compares to the # of kits they rel. in the late 90's. Have a look at the HJ Ex.

This is the effect of those trailer trash recast dealers selling Illegal recast, broke the Intl. Copyright Act, killing the original sculptor's artistic work.

All these trailer trash dirt bag should go to prison. A drop of recast dealer in prison will boost the sales of original resin kits, w/ higher vol. sales will yield more sculptors come back to the FSS sculpting world.
