Question for my first FFS Kit

Post by Metaldav » Mon Jan 30, 2006 9:23 am

Hello everyone ! It's my first Post on this forum. :D

My name is David, huge fan of FSS, and I'am from France.

It is really difficult (impossible is more true) to find FFS Kit in France, so I decided to buy my first kit : MM Red Phantom 1/100 Volks on HobbyFan website (great site and very good services).

I already made some planes kit (plastic) but it is my first resin kit and I would like to have some advices to make this kit. Which paint may I use and the best process to mount/assembling (my english is poor !! ).

Thanks in advance I long live to GearsOnline !!

you need to get some brass rods to pin the kit together. also you should wash the kit in soap and water before attempting to paint it. these are the two brief advice i can think of now...

1mm and 2 mm brass rods are usually the sizes you'll need when pinning/assembling the kit together.

I personally use Mr.Color paints made by Gunze Sangyo. I'm not sure how accessible Mr. Color is in France...

For Mr. Color paint I guess the only way is to buy online.

Ask away if you have any other questions regarding this kit. Quite a few of us have either the White or Red Phantom, or both!

Thanks Sheizzel !

It's my really ever first mecha kit (I realized some planes kit (plastic) but that's all !!

I don't know if it was a good choice for my first kit to choose the Red Phantom but if you never start by something you 'll never learn !!

My questions are quite simple : I not so good than tou all !!!

1. may I use acrylic or standard paint ?
2. I suppose I must paint first before assembling the parts
3. I will see the result !!!!!

Thanx
