A question regarding pronounciation.

Post by John F. Moscato » Tue Nov 15, 2005 4:23 pm

Something's been bothering me for a while.

With regards to Barbaluse V, Christine V, and Erinuth Dai Gu Fillmore V, how exactly do you pronounce the "v"?

Is this a last name that would be pronounced "vee", or a numeral which should be pronounced as "the fifth."?

Part of what got me thinking was an older issue of Hobby Japan with the katakana for Dai Gu Fillmore, followed by a number 5, so at this point I'm quite stumped. Which should it be?

I had always thought of it as being the same as the names of European royalty in my high school history books. I say "the fifth." However, I admit I could be wrong.

For Christine's family, it's their last name.
Pronounced Vee.

In Dai Gu's case, V is the suffix Fifth.

Having Christine and Dai Gu both appearing about the same time in the manga certainly didn't help any. And having them both involved with V-Sirens...
