SRW Original Generation - The Anime!

Post by Grebo Guru » Sun Sep 19, 2004 5:57 am

Hey y'all,

I just picked up the October issues of Dengeki Hobby Magazine and the Hobby Japan (now in its new, slightly-bigger-than-DHM size)... And in them, they mention that there's going to be a Super Robot Wars Original Generation anime! Whoo hoo!! Anyone heard anything about this?

I heard it from Gunota Headlines...

Sound very promising, we will see both ATX team and SRX team. Just wonder how much would storyline cover? I wish they don't mess up like when they do Cybaster anime...

From what I know, it's going to focus on Kyosuke's story on the ATX side, and Rai's story on the SRX side. Since it's going to be a short OAV, I doubt it's going to have to do much with the Balmar and Einst conflicts. Probably more on their back stories.

Hey, I've heard about that as well. I wonder if it'll be out in torrent file...

Thank God they cleaned up the character designs a bit. I have to say, Ive never liked the character designs for SRW... they all look the same, and they also all look a little... I dunno... fake?

Anyway, yeah, the site's lookin' sweet!

Dunno, I like the character designs in general. Besides, some of them are really meant to be archetypes, hence the slightly generic look on some of them (especially the Alpha-series characters)

But I think a number of them look very unique. Elzam and Zengar, for example. I also like Latouni's design a lot. Having that handcuffed stuffed bunny makes her look quite creepy although she isn't really a dour and taciturn goth character.

The first and 2nd episodes are out, I think...

Has anyone seen them? How are they?

I haven't had a chance to see the SRW anime but I'm definitely curious. Has anyone seen it yet?

ATTENTION TORRENT MONKEYS:

SRW OG OVA parts 1 and 2 are available at TokyoToshokan (www.tokyotosho.com/). I grabbed those puppies as soon as they were up! They rock! Old school jammin' bot warfare!

And the fansubs are quite good. Do go and check them out!!!

Yeah, checked today. I have yet to watch the subs (Digital-Panic subs for all three), but I'm looking forward to it quite a bit.
