Some mecha

Post by Engage » Wed Sep 14, 2005 10:54 pm

I like drawing mecha, and the only way I draw is freehand, so I think its amazing the way that the pictures come out. Anyways...

I have un-earthed three drawings that I did about one or two years ago. I think they look pretty good, even though they are not finished. I will only post two of the drawings because, well, I hate one of them. It was hard getting both pictures onto my computer (long story) but I hope you enjoy them. ... ure001.jpg
This one is called the Savant. I got the name by opening the dictionary, closing my eyes, and then pointing to a random word. I kinda like the name fits. ... ure002.jpg
This is one of my favorite mecha that I ever designed. It is, in my eyes, beautiful. I do see some improvements that I could make though.

Edit: The scanner didn't pick up the lines on the second one very well, but after transfering the files to another computer, I'm not complaining.

A Mortar Headd

I have completed my first Mortar Headd drawing! I don't have a name for it though...

Here it is: ... icture.jpg

What do you guys think? Do I have any artistic talent for MH?

Edit: Fixed URL

Edit 2: I cleaned up the picture a little: ... cture3.jpg

Reminds me quite a bit of Blood Temple... did you draw any inspiration from that MH?

What is a Blood Temple? I can honestly saw I have never seen that MH, though I think I heard that name thrown around somewhere...

The MH is my own design and I thought it would be cool to have the kind of swept back head style, like on the Siren (which is one of my favorite MH). I wasn't exactly sure about the shield when I was drawing it. I originally had a round shield, but I thought that the design benefited more from a square design.

Yes, it is very reminiscent of the Blood Temple. They are not well known even though they are AKD MH's. The God's Knights use them. They show up during the Emperor Rescue Mission (the AKD MH's that get creamed by the Pied Pipers)

Do you have a background for it in mind? Who designed it, etc...

I have a rough backround for it. I'll put it in Gears format:

Name: Imec (I'm still open to suggestions on the name)
Type: Unknown
Meight: Marshall Le Mox
Nation: Mercenary (personal MH of Marshall Le Mox)
Height: 16 meters
Weight: 140 tons
Output: 1.7/1.8 trillion horsepower
Weaponry: typical compliment of mortar headd weaponry

Designed and built by little known mortarheadd meight/headdliner Marshall Le Mox, the Imec was designed to have a somewhat plain appearence to lure other headdliners into a false sense of security. With the Imec's "supierior" (in Marshall's eyes) engine it could go toe-to-toe with a Schpeltor and come out the victor (not including headdliner skill of course). Le Mox could be concidered on par with Allen Bradford in terms of sword mastery and Le Mox could easily give almost any headdliner a run for their money.

After debating for a while trying to decide if I should draw Marshall I finally broke down and said "What the hell?" So, even though I am not very good at drawing people, I have two pictures of Marshall and I would recomend that you see them, and please, tell me wat you think. I could use the criticism. ... ure004.jpg This is Marshall in his evening wear. Pretty spiffy, if I do say so myself. ... ure003.jpg This is Marshall in his mercenary attire. He has a sort of modified bandolier that carries three spaads in seperate leather pouches. I also drew a quick camo scheme on his pants.

not bad fella

nice picture, very nice, Only pickup i could make were the foot facing you on the second image and the spaad holders, which looked drawn on at the last minute and very flat. Apart from that excellent work fella.

I agree with you on the left foot. I hate the left foot. I could never get it right (which is an unintentional pun and a horrible one at that). The spaad holders were drawn in at the last minute, which is why they look flat and...drawn in at the last minute. I'll be updating that drawing very soon so hopefully I can fix those problems.
