RX-78 One Year War version

RX-78 One Year War version

Postby hitori » Thu Mar 31, 2005 12:47 pm

Have you guys seen the new RX-78?
Essentially the Gundam 2.0
Has the legs of 1.5, arms and torso as good as the MG Strike Gundam, and crazy detailed panel lines.

The legs fold fully and the pelvis has spokes that shift forward (as seen in PG Strike) allowing a perfect kneeling pose.
Arms also fold fully and the new shoulder structure borrowed from MG Strike allows enough freedom to actually grab the Beam Sabers.
They skipped the Core Fighter gimmik and gave the torso double joints.

Some nice pics in this month's Dengeki Hobby.
If anyone's interested, I'll post some pics from the magazine.

Omake
Meant to be funny, but you can see how good the shoulder articulation is. :o

For me, I'm just sick of the RX-78-2 in the MG series.

This kit is the 5th RX-78-2 in the MG series, not counting recolor versions. There's the 1.0, 1.5, ver Ka, the retro styled one that was the base for the Perfect Gundam kit, and now this new Project Pegasus version.

I don't think I'll buy any more MGs until they do some new and interesting designs that I actually want, like a Gerbera Tetra or a Gera Doga.

That's very cool, can you post some images of the shoulder joint. I wonder how does it rotates like that.

He's made the top half of the RX-78 look like the Impulse's Chest Flyer.
If there is a newtype, but nobody around to hear him, does he still make that newtype "flash" noise?

The flexibility is really quite amazing. It's good news that Bandai has brought plastic model design to such a high level.

However, I also agree with KOG that we've been waiting for new designs for some time now, and now they are just re-releasing the OYW designs all over again becoz of this new feature.

Although I'd love to have Gera Doga or Jagd Doga, I believe MS from Zeta series will have higher chances, given the chronological order and the up and coming new Z Gundam movies. But basically what u said, NEW DESIGNS PLEASE !!! Move on!! :x

They are coming up with new Zeta designs.
A fully transformable Assimar has been released among other supporting role mechs.
The level of detail is not breathtaking or anything since it is an HGUC, but given the fact Assimar is a very cool transforming mech that kicked Camille and Quattro's butts, it may see an MG release.
