The "Gathering" WIP thread

Post by Sheizzel » Sat Jan 22, 2005 9:17 am

Post your progress of your entry to the gathering taking place in April 1st, 2005. Hoping to see what you all got up your sleeves :D .

Mine's not much to look at, hopefully I'll have more "real" progress soon.

Well, I've finally got my Bang Doll finished, so hopefully I can get some photos taken and posted real soon.

That's a Volks BangDoll right ?
Is it an original or recast ?
Where did you get it ?

Looking forward to seeing it finished !

PS. Are you using acrylic or enamel paints?

Volks Bang Doll.

Original. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v317/ ... oll/01.jpg

I aquired it from the contact I made for the Red Phantoms. Quite glad I did that actually.

Always using tamiya acrylics for my larger kits.

Jinnai, is this a one time thing? Or is your discount on going on any FSS GK?
If you buy a pet from pet stores , you are encouraging those breeders to breed more. This is the condition that they lives in:

It's ongoing.

Why do you think I was offering Red Phantoms at slightly below retail?

Does everyone think that thread was just for shits and giggles?

Shame only 3 people were interested..

Don't take offence.
I just don't think anyone is that bothered about the red phantom.
It's hardly a new MH. Only a very slight refinement, plus most people who like the phantom either already have one or are waiting for the 1/72.

If you were offering a Volks Bang doll then you might have a different response.

I actually found a 1/100 last junchoon for $80 in a store in chinatown here in NY !

Maybe I should snap it up ?

They had that plus a old junchoon with the flight backpack, a cross mirage and a berlin.
( and 2 pots of tamiya paint !)

I will (and already do) have access to older kits.

We all need to start somewhere. I chose the Red Phantom because there's more of that in stock right now than any other kit (except for Kneeling B4's.. lot of them also right now..).

But recast of a recast?

Or recast in general?

Keep up the recast purchasing, and Volks will DEFINATELY stop producing FSS GK.

Why do you think they nearly stopped to begin with? The HK recast indrustry is hurting japanese GK sales. That's why Volks was pulling out.

But hey..

Yep, got to support the original makers of FSS kits. I'm definitely going to stop or at least minimze my purchase for recasts and get originals.

I'll be saving long and hard for a Napalm or Volks Jagd. I just hope they'll still be around when I'm ready...
