Ghastness Temple

Post by cobywan » Tue Nov 23, 2004 12:25 am

Has anyone here seen a Ghatsness Temple pop up anywhere? Of all the awesome Wonderfest kits that did end up getting recasted, that one wasn't. I really like that design. The 1/100th scale kit looked pretty good.

Indeed, that was one of the kit I was waiting for. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem like it made it out of Japan in order for the guys in HK to recast this kit. Surprisingly, I did not even see it pop up in YahooJapan. I did see 1/144s which were overpriced as expected.

I thought 1/100 Gastness was Volks caliber work. The proportion look great and the under armor detailing was nicely done like what Volks would have if they ever make one.

My guess is that it'll never show up and time seen to be a good explanation of why it won't  .

I think the wonderfest models are limited to 20 units. I bet that a recaster wasn't able to get on of them. There were also a dozen figures this year that should have had a wider release.

Yes, a lot of nice kits failed to escape outside of Japan. Chromehead.co.kr got some kits that is rarely or not available from other recast sources.

They even got these two cute little FSS figures from FAC made by this site http://www.rglattcc.com/ .

That page is AWESOME!!! I have been toying around with the idea of sculpting some FSS charcters. Those progress shots are VERY inspirational.

Yep! I came across this page a long time ago when he was just starting to sculpt these figures. I tried contacting a Korean on-line shop to get a recast of this kit but my mails went unasnwered :x .

If you ever start to sculpt your own FSS kits, be sure to keep us inform :D .

Hmm... 1/100 Gastness DID look good. Too bad it doesn't seem to have ever made it into the hands of recasters. I guess it was such a nice kit, no one wanted to sacrifice it after they got it. :)

Gastness looked a lot better than, say, the Heavy Cross... which DID make it to recast...
