Happy, I don't have as many as I once did and not even close enough to some freaks in here :P .

If you're looking for a model shop with resin kits, you're pretty much out of luck. I certainly don't know any around where I live. Legends is pretty dead. They have plastic kits which they are overcharging. Mr.Color paint selection is on life support...

Thankyou so much for your help !

I'm going to head to Kino today and try and pick up the new english volumes and any Characters books they may have.

I guess I'll stick to buying kits online.
Though it is always great to see built FSS kits.
I remember going to Yellow Submarine in Tokyo and seeing a Siren, Black Knight and KOG - built and painted perfectly, very inspirational.

Thanks for the suggestions on night life.
I'm in Silver Lake at the moment and I have quite a few NY friends turning up tonight.

Raided the FSS stuff, though
Sure, the Kinos I used to go to had various modeling magazines range from the more popular ones to others you don't often see or hear about. Gundam Weapons and Tales of Joker are all available from Kinos.

I always want Kino carry Model Graphix, Dengeki, or perhaps even Character. Apparently, they are not as popular as HJ.

You think they could at least carry MG.

of course, look at their pricing. Only housewife buying a gundam for kids for the first time will fall for those prices.

However, because of that, I got quite a few of older stuff at "higher than normal price" from them, items that I can no longer find from Japan. But you probably read it a few years ago at g.com

Does Tokyo model shops still have older FSS resin kits for sale? Or is it worth while to model shop in Tokyo any more?

If not, where does those guys at yahoo japan get those kits?

I saw a lot of FSS resin kits at Yellow Submarine and at a few stores in Akihabara.

Akihabara was amazing for kit shopping.
I also found some Bandai EX kits that are unavailable even on the net.
But I spent most of my money on manga (I bought all the japanese FSS books and the english editions up to no.12)

But what year were these resin kits came out?

In other words, what series are they? AF, SSS, MM, SAV, etc?

I thought Akihabara is a electronic gadget town only?

Anyhow, during your shopping tour in Japan, how many people speaks English? What happens when the other side doesn't speak English?

And where did you stay in Japan?

Hmm... I've ordered a ton of kits from Hobbyfan. Both FSS and some figures. I've had good experience with them. Usually get replies to e-mail pretty fast, and I've never been ignored. Shipping times are fast, but that's because I live about 60 miles away from them. Quality of kits is generally good, and it's been getting better lately, as compared to when I first started shopping with them. And whenever I've had a problem with a kit (cracked or missing piece) they've always been very helpful about getting replacement parts.

I've ordered about 5 items from E2046. 3 older recasts and 2 FAC recasts. Quality good on all 5 kits. Definitely takes longer to deal with E2046. Emailr replies are pretty slow most of the time. And it seems to take a while for them to process and ship orders.

Overall the recast quality at both sites seems comparable. If both sites have a kit I want, I'd usually go with hobbyfan since they are quicker and easier to deal with. But I wouldn't mind ordering from e0246 if hobbyfan doesn't have what I want.
