Wave 1/100 Led Mirage Transparent

hi guys. anyone have the new Wave 1/100 Led Mirage transparent kit? it is selling for 4200 yen in HLJ.com. is the tooling new? or just a rehash of the old kit with transparent plastic?

slightly OT: what about the new book, Factories 2001-2004, by Wave? is it any good?

The model itself is the same as the old one.
Even the heels are the older flat type.
Changed are the armor plates and polycaps.
The "translucent" parts are more like milky white.
Don't expect "clear resin" qualities here.
But there is a sheet of newly designed decals included with this version.

Some sample pics.
This modeler decided to leave the armor parts unpainted.
The only thing he did was to spray semi-gloss topcoat.
His is the Prince Sarion version, but the plastic materials are the same.

Actually that's the 1/144 Wave LED Sarion. Not the 1/100.

Yeah, there are definately som proportional differences between the Wave 1/100 and 1/144. And the shield is attached to the arm a different way.

To bad Wave went the ubercheap road and didnt even include new parts to build the LED with high heels (like how they retconned the old KOG and added some parts to make it V3) =/

The shield linkage is indeed the most obvious clue. But there are many many proportional and detail differences.

Just as an example, the 1/144 has the detail lines on top of the shoulders sculpted in, whereas the 1/100 just has decals for this detail.

hi... u must be n. o. from waxtrax? how have u been? finished the jagd mirage by now??

anyway, the new 1/100 LED Mirage seems interesting enough, would compliment the boomerang (when and if i complete it!)

Hi there.

Yup, it's me... seems like a lot of the Wax Trax folks made it over here...

Haven't worked on Jagd yet... last thing I finished was a 2nd Cross Mirage Male (SSS). Now I'm working on a new Volks MM Bang Doll, and after that I plan to do a SSS Terror Mirage.

I'm really hoping to get some recent photos posted up soon...

If you mean the Wave 1/100.... no I did not get it. I'm not really interested since it's exactly the same thing as the old Wave 1/100, except with semi-clear plastic and some new decals.

I already have both the Volks LED V3, Volks LED Napalm, and Silicon Tribe LED V3, so a clear Wave LED isn't too appealing at all...
