MH Design flaw ?
This is by no means an attack on Nagano's aesthetics (which are impeccable!)
So the engine for most (all?) Mortar Headds is in the legs ?
Well if I was fighting another MH it would quickly turn into a knee slapping fight. I mean,
1) the knee seems the most vunerable (least armoured) point on an MH, especially the newer no heel mecha (which have no armour at the rear at all).
2) Most MH are top heavy, so damaging the knee would most likely topple the upper body and at least make it immobile.
3) Attacking the knee would sever the power connection to the entire body.
What do you think ?

True. I guess attacking any limb would result in a disadvantage for the victim."Flaw" number 2 affects ALL bipedal mecha so,kinda hard to get around that one unless you are piloting a TA from Gasaraki ;P
But the leg is an especially valuable AND underprotected Target in Mirages...
Good to hear this isn't the case in other FSS mecha.
Maybe that's why the AKD moved it there...?

Some FSS knights act more like Samurai, then again, some act more like Medieval knights. Depends on the nation, culture and individual preferrence, it seems. (Kaien dresses like a Ronin at times and acts much like one as well. Muse Van Reyback, though he uses a Katana, is all Templar through and through)
Then again, there are some Knight corps that don't conform toward either school of thought. The Mirage Knights are one such order. They tend to act more like special forces and assasins than knights or samurai!
Oh, and lets not forget Allen Braford. A mercenary, native-tracker who dresses and fights like a samurai....sometimes.

I might try translating some stuff again.
Lately there has been lot of new materials released.
Most of them I haven't even read yet...
But about the past translations, I lost them all with the WaxTrax server crashes.
Never kept any backup because I wrote directly to the message board.
If anyone has saved them, they are free to post here in GEARS.
