Sorry to interject, I'm just a tad confused here...

Am I understanding correctly that Tani's KoG V3 is both 1/144 AND $500?????

If this is indeed the case, someone please get me some of what he's smoking. I do this kind of stuff for a living, and even I couldn't justify a price like that on a 1/144; not unless it's a Jagd anyway.

Yup, 1/144, 300(?) pieces, 50000yen.

Needless to say I won't be buying an original, even if I had the chance.

Yeah, 50000yen, I know time equals money and it took Tani a long time to complete this kit, but what in the world is in this kit to get this kind of price?

It still won't justify the cost of this kit even if it does come with clear armors...

If the kit was 1/100, I might have considered it. But 50000yen for 1/144... no way.

The price would still be much too high even if the kit is in 1/100 with clear armor.

I mean, we saw the kit but still, it doesn't add up to 50000yen, not even close.

I know it would still be an unfair price for 1/100, I just mean that if it was 1/100, I could maybe persuade myself to get one, if it looked really good. But I can't persuade myself to pay that much for 1/144, no matter what.

Yeah, I know what you're saying. I was just Xitching at the pricing :P . Tani did make a big comeback with a small kit :x . At least he still sculpts, hoping he would sculpt more 1/144s though, I'm sure you and others feel the same.

Why not? Jack bought his 1/144 Junchoon for something like 68K yen. or was it US$468?

Besides, did Tani make the JagdMirage in 1/144 and 1/220 at a higher price?

As for WSC, I'd say about half the back-catalog is available at HLJ... certain kits I want to get originals of are sadly OOP (such as Terror Mirage, Junchoon).
Yes, you're right... there is less currently available than I realised. The Terror mirage was available not too long ago. I remember because I was considering buying it at the time. I am fairly sure it will be back in stock before too long. The Junchoon, on the other hand, seems to be re-issued much less often. Good luck getting one. Actually I am surprised you don't already have one. 8)

I'm hoping the WSC LED Light Arms becomes available again sometime. I've heard that the WSC LED Sarion is exactly the same as the Light Arms, only it has the parts for BOTH the Sarion head along with the normal LED head. Is this true?

The LED Sarion by WSC comes with the Amaterasu Mirage head... Different helmet styling and counterweight sculpt.

I was looking at the pics of Tani's KOG V3. To be perfectly honest, I don't think it's all that great; some of the sculpting on the outer parts of the chest looks somewhat lackluster. Regardless of scale, Volks' 1/100 model completely outshines it.

I bought it for around $460, but that was off YahooJapan auction so the prices will jump as high as people want it to.

Why not? Simple. I don't think any 1/144 (of a normal size MH) is worth 50000yen.

Jack split the cost of the Junchoon with other people.

The "1/144" Jagd Mirage from Tani was originally 69800yen. The 1/220 Jagd Mirage was, I think, 19800yen.

Yeah, I was about to order a Terror Mirage... and the very day I had finally made up my mind to place an order, it went out of stock. Kinda pissed about that...

I actually do have a pretty good WSC Junchoon, recast. But I am slowly trying to collect a full set of WSC originals... which is why I wanted to get an original Junchoon, Terror, and a couple others.

Like John said, WSC LED Sarion comes with Sarion and Amaterasu heads. Both are different from the 'normal' head which comes with the Light Arms kit.

I want him to sculpt more 1/100s, not more 1/144s. :)
