FSS printed in italian

Post by Arthad » Sun Feb 06, 2011 3:17 pm

Hi to everyone, I'm an italian fan of FSS (so please forgive me if my english is not very good), first of all I wanted to thank you for all the material on the site, second and most important, since it seemed to pass totally unnoticed by this forum, here in italy the editor flashbook ( http://www.flashbook-edizioni.it/serie- ... idserie=85 ) has started publishing an italian translated edition of FSS.
The translation of personal names is horrible, the translator stated that he wanted to stay the much closer possible to tha japanese meaning, totally ignoring that many names are originally english ones, so the "First Eastern Mirage Corps" became the "First Easterr Mirage Coarps", the "Rainbow Bowrays" became the "Boulay", and so on.

Links to some pictures I made from the first to books.

I greatly appreciate your sharing of pics!! Didn't know there is an italian version~~ very surprised!! Thank you!!

May I know how many volumes are printed already, and how big are these books? Do you know if these are bootlegs? Wonder if there is a legit french version as well.

The first three books have been already published, and the fourth is to be released at the end of the month.
The volumes are 21 cm x 16.5 cm, I'm not sure about the meaning of bootleg applied to comics editions, could you explain a little more? Thanks!

oh i was wondering if the italian version has the proper permission from Toyspress to print FSS.

21 cm x 16.5 cm is the exact same size as the japanese volumes (which are much smaller than the NT magazine sizes).

Thanx!

As much as I know they should have all the permissions, in a post in the editor's forum they stated that the parts owning copyrights finally found an agreement on international licensing, so they could acquire the rights for publication in Italy.
