State of FSS Manga (Japanese + English)

Post by MASARU » Mon Nov 12, 2007 10:50 pm

Not counting the Characters-type special books, is this the very most current state of the manga proper?

Japan: Volume 12 published

English: Volume 26 last published
(Also, is it true that English #26 takes us through Japenese Volume 10?)

Is there any hope or hints about FSS English translations starting up again after #26?

Are there web translations of Japanese Vol 11 + 12?

Yes, yes and yes.

No hints but there's hope. As for Web translations, I don't know.
If you don't like the news then go make some of your own.

So after 3 or so years of japanese volumes 11 & 12 being out, are we any closer to a translation ?
I can only guess so much from looking at frames.

Even a board based guess-a-thon would be much appreciated !

Anyone have any bilingual japanese friends ?

I'll write summaries for you if you want.
That might at least give you some idea what's going on?

One thing is, I packed my books away in storage bins so I don't have access to them.
If you could kinda take some low resolution photographs of major events in the books, I'll try to remember and write down what's going on. :)

You packed your books away !!!?

And you call yourself a fan ! They're only small !!!!

Only joking :D

I could try and summarize what's on each page but I think it would be confusing and futile eg. this new girl character speaks to another new fatima character then a dragon turns up, then we cut to an engage etc etc..

I can't make any sense of vol 12. Nagano seems to be rambling a bit.
I mean, at the rate he releases manga he should be WAY MORE CONCISE with the story.
(where are the LED's ??? we've only waited 12 volumes to see them in action !!!!!!!!!!!! Let alone my beloved Hydra  )

Perhaps if you get time to dig up your vol 11&12 you could give us a summary ? You might even reference the scans that are (used to be?) here.

I just got a new scanner. I'll see what I can do.

I have yet to aquire volume 12, but I do have volume 11 (Japanese of course). I'm not sure how those small-ish Tankouban style books are going to fit into the scanner though (not without creasing the crap outta my books...)

I've packed away about 100 or so books in the last few months.

NONE of them FSS related. :)

Thanks for offering to scan.
I know it's a time consuming work.
But it only needs to be good enough to make out the pictures, enough to help me remember the storyline. :)

I am a tired fan :)
Couldn't tolerate Nagano's lazy ass BS any more...I'll dig it back up when he's ready and when I have time.

The reason I said low resolution photographs is because that'd be enough to help me remember the storyline.
I absolutely don't intend to do word-for-word translation: that's too much work. haha

And unpacking the books is out of question.
Took me a lot to nicely package them all away.
Not gonna unpack and re-do that any time soon.

I can tell I'm setting myself up for disappointment. I just obtained issues #1 and 4-6. I'm hooked, but I know I'm going to be missing the latest japanese issues when I finally finish collecting the english translations. Oh, the bittersweetness of being an anime fan :)

You said a mouthful my friend.

I just hope he finishes the other "Designs" books and his animation so he can get back to the manga sometime within the current century.

I found a place where you can get scans of entire volumes. They are scans of the NEWTYPE version, so if there are any changes in the Tankoubans, they aren't present in these scans. I have all of Volume 12 right now and I'll look into getting Volume 11 shortly.

Well, unfortunately, volume 11 didn't pan out (it started as FSS 11 then turned into Lizard King!) so i'll do some test scans at home with my own Volume 11 to see how they pan out.
