Rock / Music References in FSS

Post by Poseidal » Sun Oct 14, 2007 8:26 pm

I think we all know of Nagano's interest in music, its quite amazing. Apart from the obvious LED Mirage / Dragon, one of the biggest ones there is Amon Duul.

In FSS, the whole era before Joker was the "Amon Duul" era (and in L-Gaim, there is a heavy metal called Amon Duul as well) - who are Amon Duul? Amon Duul (2) are a German rock group with none other that Falk Rogner as one of the members!

You all probably know this, but it's nice to discuss it once in a while, especially after having a 'break' from FSS for a while.

And I always thought Rogner actually looks a bit more like John Paul Jones...

From what I remember:

SSL, Intercity and Neeve are all record lables.

Chris Karrer, Peter Leopold and John Wienzierl are also members of Amon Duul. Recognize those names?

The two headdliner gaurds at the Fatima brothel who are killed by Krackenbeal. One gaurd wears a "CBGB" shirt which is a famous New York rock club. The other gaurd is a dead ringer for Vanilla Ice.

Ah, I misunderstood then. They manufacture stereo equipment (professional level?)

There's a Newtype article where Nagano discusses all his rock influences, from place and mecha names all the way down to individual character designs. Anybody wanna translate it? :D

Hiya!

Just worked a quiz show - & one of the questions dealt with Dr.(?) Kalen - whose theory involved the "orchestration of humanity". Wonder if that's where Kalen gets her name...?
