1/72 scale, which should be around the same size as other 1/100 scale kits.

By the way, I just notice this. The picture of Tani's AUGE was taken next to the drawing of the Machine Mess AUGE in Knight Flags. If you look at the size of the upper portion Tani has already sculpted and compare that to the actual Knight Flags drawing, then we may be looking at a huge kit once it is finished :?:

I was just thinking... 1:72 Machine Mess Auge by Tani = lotsa dollars, yens, or any other currency you might prefer to deal in. The Volks Mess Auge was mid 30K yen...

And people who have/had Tani's 1/72 KOG AT would know that his 1/72 is huge!

The Volks Machine Mess Auge is already very well done. I don't see the logic of doing another one.

By contrast the old Auge was never perfect by any of those companies. And yet noone redo it. Not to mention w/ so many MH that noone has ever done before.

The Volks version is a reasonably good reproduction of the Mess Auge in standing pose. Since that kit was released we have seen the Mess Auge doing crazy things in combat, and there is no decent model that captures that aspect of the design.

As for the size of it being 1:72... will be interesting to see if he will make it similar to his old 1:72 KOG, or if it will be more like the ST 1:72 MHs... i.e. approximately the same size as Volks' and WSC's 1:100s

I'm reasonably-certain that 1/72 will mean "larger than 1/100". Problem is, based on the price of his 1/144 KOG, and judging by how pricy Volks' Auge already was, I dare think that this one will also be colosally-expensive.

but Tani is doing a standing pose anyway. It could be a different standing pose than the Volks ver., but so what?

I like what I'm seeing of the Mess Auge so far. Pose is looking like it might be interesting, and I like the intricate detail on the arm.

On the other hand, not too excited about the Sr1. It doesn't have the extended shoulder bits that I was expecting, so it doesn't appear to be the 'flight version' that I was hoping for. I mean, it doesn't look bad... but it also doesn't look a lot better than the old MM. It seems to be slightly less slim than the MM, based on the waist...

I dunno, I'll reserve final judgement til I see them both completed.

But for now, I feel like I'd be more interested in buying the Mess Auge... I wonder what the price will be like.

The hand details is excellent, I don't know which Mh it is for.

The head of the SR1 seems a bit less detail. It's too hard to judge based on the above pictures though.

It's with the other auge parts, so it's safe to assume that it's for the auge. Besides, the Sr1 arm doesn't look like that.

Pictures in the latest issue of Toys8 show the WIP Auge from Tani. Also, we get to see what looks like a completed Engage SR-1 from Hirai.
