Post by Sheizzel » Tue Mar 21, 2006 6:10 am

I'm not sure how many of you have interest in this kit...For those of you who wouldn't mind taking an in-depth look at this kit, here's it goes :) .

This kit was purchased by someone who a couple of you out there made know, and his name is Rob. Needless to say, I was very appreciative of him making various trips to Volks Showcase in Osaka to get this kit for me, and a free Volks catalog :D .

Oh, by the way, here is something interesting, if what I'm assuming is correct.

I found this blog that purchased SSS KOG w/Buster. Nothing interesting there, right? Get this, he got an extra chest and two extra faces :?:

If you buy a pet from pet stores , you are encouraging those breeders to breed more. This is the condition that they lives in:

awesome detail on that kit. how does the ver.3 model compare to this one? equally crisp detail?

gotta love the stylized genitals on top of the headpiece XD some serious insemination going on there.

I immagine that the two would be about the same in terms of cleanliness and detail, since they were both mastered by the same sculptor.

Yes, both are about the same kit. SSS KOG w/Buster was made based on KOG V3. Like John said, both kit sculpted by the same person.

In terms of detailing, KOG V3 definitely has more. It has a full inner frame. Being a clear armor kit, it has a lot of details underneath the kit. SSS KOG w/Buster was cast with the armors on to the frame, therefore the detailings aren't as impressive as that of the V3.

ah, I see.
I don’t think I’ve ever seen any good shots of the V3 inner frame. are there any pics online? also, I’m a bit curious if has a seperate mask, with it’s face underneath, or if it’s just cast in place?

Here's a picture of the frame. And no, the V3 does not have a separate mask for the face.

I could always sculpt the face myself, if I want one :D

It does require extra care when cleaning up the clear armors. Also, a lot of sanding and polishing will be needed to get the desired transparent effect.

Good luck Sheizzel, because this kit is not simple at first sight.

Thank you. I will definitely need some of that luck to get the clear armors on the KOG V3 to look like what they are supposed to look like...

By the way, any thoughts on the color for the internals of the SSS KOG? I've seen three different colors, whether that be the colored illustrations of the KOG, or on model kits.

If I'm not color blind, the back of English Vol.1 shows the KOG having deep purple-ish internals?

The color of the sub-armor seems to fluctuate, depending on the sources. Even from art-book to art-book, there are noticeable color fluctuations... No doubt from the printing process.

It seems to vary from a deep prussian blue, to a blue violet. My Japanese book I has the KOG artwork with light-grey/silver hands. Basically, I wouldn't lose too much sleep over that, just do what looks & feels right to you. As for the gold, that's an even stickier matter, as there are a multitude of ways of geting a gold finish both easy and difficult, and all with a wide variety of results.
