New Image of Xi Gundam

Post by Tachyon » Tue Aug 16, 2005 2:51 am

Added the "Version Katoki" image to the Xi Gundam page.

And I'm still working on the Tyrant Sword images...

Sukoi!! While I feel Katoki tone-down Xi a bit, it isn't a bad thing. :D

I like it , but of course I'm a " Ver.Ka " addict . Katokis' style adds a certain hard-edged flare to any mobile suit that I really like .
Do you understand?

The thing I wonder about regarding the Gundam Fix action figures is, does Katoki actually draw the lineart included for each FIX toy, or is it someone who draws "like" him? Has anyone confirmed it is actually his art?

I am aware of the Gundam Fix book which had Katoki paintings of Gundams digitally placed over real life photographs, which is what the FIX line is based on. I just wonder if the line-art included with the release of each toy, like the one for the XI, is actually Katoki's artwork or someone elses. There are a lot of artists now that can mimic his work, like Bee craft from the MG manuals or that "Windfall" art site.

Please don't take this serious guys, I'm not challenging the Gears website's labeling the art Ver. Ka, it is very cool you posted the art along with all the other work you have posted here, it's just light-hearted curiosity.

I don't mind your questions at all. If you learn anything, please let us know.

As best as I can understand, Hobby Japan Magazine is claiming that Katoki Hajime created the image.
