Z Gundam Movies - Speculation

Post by Tachyon » Mon Aug 01, 2005 7:47 pm

Let's say the 3 Z Gundam movies on DVD sell really, really well in Japan. What's next? What new Z Gundam things could we expect?
If you don't like the news then go make some of your own.

I wouldn't hold my breath for Z Gundam goodies , SEED Destiny is what is being supported now and will be as long as it sells . I'm afraid Zeta probably wouldn't appeal to the fan base that Destiny does and that's where the money is for Bandai/Sunrise , unfortunately .
Do you understand?

SEED in terms of DVD sales is doing great.
But Bandai's greatest revenue generating product is the Gundam model kits.
In that department SEED is suffering.
Many of their model kits are being clerenced out at 20~25% of MSRP.
500yen ($5 USD) or less for an HG kit!

While the fully transformable Assimar, MG Aggai, new Z Gundam action figure, etc are selling out as soon as they can stock them.

The special edition Gundam Mk2 was originally sold at 1000yen, but now sells with a premium at more than 10,000yen.
(of course this was a limited production promotional item...)

A build example of the limited edition HG Mk II.

Fully transformable Gaplant, Hambrabi, and semi transformable Gyavslay(sp?) is slated for release this year.
I think, with the maga success of Z Gundam movie, they've realized the older fans are still around and willing to buy.
