October 2013 Newtype scans

Post by levrin » Tue Oct 01, 2013 3:48 am

Always with the soap opera antics when Cha is around. Mejojo tries to apologize for his guys, but Cha shows him no respect. Mejojo makes advances towards Cha, and recalls a story of two young boys facing off against Kaien, implying that Sieg was one of them. Cha criticizes Mejojo's moustache, which turns out to only be a fashion accessory, and gives matching charms to both Mejoro and Sieg. Sieg's mother shows up, way too tense about meeting her son. Freeze takes over as Cha's escort now that Rognar's gone back to Float Temple and acts a little too formally for Cha to be comfortable.

Info about the Gatt Blow and other things in the front page. Anyone care to take a stab at a rough translation?

The Gatt Blow is an energy weapon made from the same Helios superalloy as GTM plating; generally they're not even sharp because the energy field is doing the cutting, but a headdliner can still cut with one through sheer strength if necessary. The handle can be one piece with the blade or of different stuff to reduce weight; smaller ones have folding and collapsing parts. They're obnoxiously heavy for normal people, and need a harness in the clothes rather than a belt to hold up, though since they're not sharp they don't need to be sheathed. The weapon serves as a similar symbol of authority as the swords of Japan's Tokugawa period, with Garlands and Sliders sometimes wearing the smaller ones. In the case of Mirage Knights, the signature weapon indicates that the bearer is a representative of Amaterasu and can make decisions on his behalf. The longer version carried by Christine appears to be a traditional indicator of skill, as longer and heavier weapons are more difficult to wield. This one goes with the Highlander title and tends to be worn only for formal events.

ooh, I love the background on those. Now I want to see them in action to see what Nagano has planned. Hopefully they are at least as impressive as Speids and Spaads were.
