FSS Cosplay

Post by hitori » Tue Dec 04, 2007 9:59 pm

Forum's so quiet.
Here's an attempt to get some conversation going...

I never had a chance to go to conventions or events, but I really enjoy checking out how people work to bring manga characters to 3D.
These are some I saw in a Korean cosplay photo gallery.

Very nice! I like the latex-like suits :)

yeah, they were great. I really liked the color and albedo of the plastics-style outfitts. My only gripe is that they needed to be a bit more skin-tight as these showed too many wrinkles.

The Naias Brunhilde looked good too.

Very nice work. Makes me wish I could make it to Anime Expo again. A few years back 3 girls came from Japan and they cosplayed as different FSS characters all through the con. They had 2 or 3 outfits each and they were all really nice.

I like the wrinkles in her suit. It makes her appear a bit more gaunt. It's impossible for a cosplayer to be as thin as the Fatimas (unless they are a runway model, hehehe), so having a little more space in the costume makes her appear more thin than she really is. Works for me :)

A couple more.
Somehow there's lot of people doing PS Fatima suits.

I've always liked Nagano's plastic style fatima suits. They look so otherworldly and "science-fictiony" to me. I'd always imaged them being difficult to cosplay but seeing these photos makes me consider changing my mind.

What a great live action costume drama FSS would make. Very visually arresting designs. The merging of period piece and science fiction is so different. I can think of no such similar example, save perhaps the Dune adaptations and a few Star Wars costumes.

I've liked more the decadent style, BUT the plastic style looks really nice in "real life".
