NEED HELP - Japanese Text on Web Pages

Post by Tachyon » Thu Dec 09, 2004 7:12 pm

I'd like to ask for help working with Japanese text on Web pages. I can type in Japanese in Word for Windows and my Web browser displays Japanese text with no trouble. My problem is: How do I take the Japanese text I've created in Word for Windows and put it into the HTML of a Web page. I want to start putting Japanese text into Web pages I create for Gears Online. I'm tired of making images for the kanji of mecha designers' names.

Can anyone offer help or suggestions? Thank you!

Maybe you should change the charset meta tag in the HTML header, something like this :

<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8">

or like

<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=unicode">

or exactly for japanese coding

<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=shift_jis">

that should work .... (i hope) :D
