One interesting topic for me is when science-fiction becomes science fact. How many people reading this use electronic car navigators? I bought one a year ago and liked it so much I bought another one for my family's 2nd vehicle. My 2 devices have made my life easier and they're fun to play with. They receive satellite transmissions constantly. I think that's cool.
I vaguely remember seeing similar devices in western movies and sci-fi anime years ago but I'm having trouble coming up with specific references. Can anyone remember any?

If you don't like the news then go make some of your own.

May be you were thinking Ghost in the Shell the first movie, where the part you see the driver zoom out and use the map. For future tech, I always wanted to drive a car with a joystick, like controlling a mecha or fighter.
