Bandai Dunbine Assembly - Wings n' Things

Post by Newton » Tue Jul 25, 2006 7:16 pm

Hey Model-Lords:

I have one of the Yasushi Nirasawa-designed Dunbine dolls from Bandai. I am having trouble with the assembly, though. The wings are delicate, they seem to be made of styrene. They have ball-joints on the end, that are supposed to fit into sockets on the mech's back. Unfortunately, the PVC of the main body isn't pliable enough to simply pop the wings into the sockets. I've tried pushing them in, but I don't want to break the wings.

Do you have any suggestions on how to soften the PVC sockets enough to get the wings in?

Also, it looks like I'll have to glue the shell that covers the wings onto the back of the doll. What adhesives would you recommend?

Thanks for your knowledge.
