illegal to sell completed model kits?

is it illegal to sell completed model kits?
cuz i read somewhere i think it's illegal to sell models of cars or something... i didn't really get what they meant.
but if i had some models i finished, and if i put it on online to sell, would it be illegal? or would i have to put it as auction?

The car models thing sounds like BS to me. I can't think of any earthly reason why it would be illegal.
