Starship Troopers - A Rare Treat

I had the rare treat yesterday of watching all 6 episodes of Starship Troopers (1988) subtitled. The link above will lead you to the same files I downloaded. There's nothing illegal about downloading these files. The series isn't copyrighted in the U.S. and hasn't even been released to DVD anywhere.

I enjoyed the OVA and really liked the mecha designs. It's a shame they couldn't take it farther but I guess there's only one novel to draw from and they didn't want to "run off" and write their own material for a classic.

If you get a chance to watch it, post your reactions here.
If you don't like the news then go make some of your own.

Ya, just watched it. I would actually define the "mecha" here as PA suits along the lines of Ex-Gear in MF, but that's just splitting hairs.

I recently watched a doujin short that was inspired (probably) by the bug battle scene in the last ep that was absolutely mind blowing. It's extremely old, and was done by the "Kanto experimental anime association"group 39'8" (can't remember the exact name). This was the only short I could find from them, I really wish I could see more.

Although the series is pretty old (88, was it?), the concept and execution was absolutely sound. Kudos to Studio Nue for that...
