Gall Force Star Front - Question

Post by Tachyon » Wed Nov 08, 2006 4:06 pm

I know I said I wouldn't have many questions on Gall Force but there is one thing I'd really like to know. When and where did Gall Force Star Front first appear? Some magazine? Wikipedia doesn't even mention Star Front at all (I'll probably add the info myself later).

I know Star Front is what they call a photo novel. A text story with photos of scratch-built model kits mixed in. Some interesting mecha designs were created that never made it into animation (yes, Gears Online will feature them all).

Any help would be appreciated!

If memory serves correctly...

Star Front Gall Force ran in Model Graphix back in the day. Now, I've got to go back and find out for sure...

Damn you, Tachyon! Forcing me to resurrect the past!!! :-)

Model Graphix 1985 -1986. You can still find some of the Model Graphix Star Front specials on Ebay. I nabbed one few weeks ago.

Great! Thanks! If your issue has any info on people involved and what they did, please let me know. For example, who wrote the text for the novel, who made the plastic models, etc.

Wow! Cool! Thanks so much. Do you mind if I share this info on Wikipedia? I want a flimsy excuse to link the Gall Force entry there to Gears Online. 8)

Nope ! Just do as you wish . The info was already made public with the printing of Star Front Gall Force back in 1986.

You go, man! Pass me anything that gets near your scanner. I'm not focusing on model photos but a logo graphic or anything that looks interesting on the pages would be fun.

Roger that.

I have to leave for a few days - sudden emergency - but I have begun searching. Now to find out where those Model Graphix issues are hiding...

This is a great excuse to spend a day rearranging my bookshelves, BTW.

Out of tragedy (the death of a close friend's mother) has come good news(I got a copy of the Star Front Gall Force book). I'll begin scanning when I get home.

A good percentage of the illustrations are model shots (like Cruise Chaser Blassty). Do you want them as well as the line art?
