Thanx Tachyon. I've missed bein' here to chat. I'm glad you got some kinda use out of my brain drool since I've been gone!

Yep, when I get the chance (this week I hope) I look forward to catching up on my reading of posts.

Been away, but I think I'm back

Hey all, I guess this is the right forum to put this message in. I dunno for sure, but oh well, I'm here now. So, yeah, I'm back. I've been away from Gears for a long time, but for the nonce my life seems to have stabilized and my time seems to have freed up. So, cool, I can post here again. I spent...

I do think that Biollante was a terrific monster. Admittedly, the movie was kinda lacking in the kaiju-fight department... But the idea of Biollante was just so COOL to me. However, the first new Gamera movie was really, really, REALLY amazing. I think that may be my favorite kaiju movie of all time...

Of course, if MSs did have locks... Have you ever put this question to Mark Simmons? I'd love to hear his answer. ...At least in SEED there was the possibility that the hero used his mental powers to hack the system when he rewrote the OS. Amuro just read a book, Judo and Uso didn't even do that. H...

Yes, Zeta Gundam truly is the cat's meow. If only the opening and ending music were correct... sigh. But, I guess MP3s or MPG clips can be downloaded from SOMEwhere... Man, I love Zeta Gundam. Im so happy its out here now. A shame it's "too little too late" for Gundam, but as a longtime fan, Im ecst...

Ever seen Gundam ZZ? It begins with Judo stealing the Zeta Gundam... so that he can SELL IT to pay for taking care of his little sister! Of course, if MSs did have locks, we wouldn't have that fabulous rumble-in-the-cockpit between Usso and Chronicle at the beginning of V-Gundam... Glad you're lovin...

Toys: Here, Chatter, or new forum?

There are lots of awesome mecha which have toys, and in fact there are many mecha for which the toys are primary. Would toy discussions go here in the Modelling section, or in the Chatter forum, or should there be a new forum for them?

Wow, very nice "secret files" there, Q! Good going!

I am struck by how the art style of some of these Ideon rough designs remind me of the line art/model sheets for the Gridman toys. (Or Superhuman Samurai Syber Squad, as its crappy US version was known).

The first 2 OVAs are a summarization of the whole TV series. The third is an original story called, IIRC, "Full Metal Soldier." (This kind of thing was done a lot in the 80s. Layzner and Galient got a similar treatment.) Anyway, the 3rd OVA was about a new villain, his cool, six-armed, musically-con...

Beh... the Demonbane anime is so short and feeble its really annoying. The promotional videos on NitroPlus' site, and on other Japanese sites, are way better. Plus I have a spiffy Demonbane book. And yes, Demonbane does indeed go kinda JW with Cthuga and Ithaqua. Even holds one of them sideways, IIRC!

Aha, I see you've watched some John Woo films, SteamTrooper. Intersting idea you've got there, I will think on it. It also occurs to me that the Demonbane from the NitroPlus video game "Deus Machina Demonbane" pulls some two-pistol action. It uses the handguns Ithaqua and Cthuga. (The game is full o...
