It is indeed a serialized text story running in Gundam Ace. However, text summaries are floating around online, and of course it features cool visual aids in the form of Yas characters and Katoki mecha. My point was just that if you want more stories soon after Char's Counterattack that use new weap...

One of the things I like about the UC universe is seeing the technologies develop. You know, this is actually a VERY good point, and one which is easily overlooked. The advancement of technologies is indeed a fun aspect to sci-fi sequels -- Macross Plus is another spiffy example. I'd like to see mo...

Ssssooooo, I've had some time on my hands, and I've found myself revisiting this subject. Here are some more ideas on future Mobile Suit technologies: Energized Mono-Gundarium This, really, is functionally the same as Phase Shift Armor. I actually came up with the idea of EMG back around the time V ...

This is actually why it pays to watch the original, oldskool -- REALLY oldskool -- shows, like Mazinger Z. Once you see that, you realize that a lot of the supposedly gropundbreaking stuff from Gundam and such actually can be traced directly from there. It's kinda trying, at times, but it pays to di...

Yeah, the new "Pailsen Files" (since when did they switch from "Peruzen"?) is a prequel to the original VOTOMS tv show. All the mecha are 3-d rendered. Looks pretty cool, though I generally don't have much faith in prequels. They tend to mess up continuity something awful.

Hmmm. Well, for the background music, I'd tap Moby, Tangerine Dream, New Order, or -- my dream soundtrack band -- the Pet Shop Boys.

The opening and ending songs would be by, uh... hm. Someone Japanese. TRF or Romantic Mode would be good.

Beware, the Mospeada art book isn't all that good. It has some tasty tibits, but it isn't what it should be.

Actually, the best source of Mospeada artwork is, oddly enough, Palladium's "REF Field Guide".

Regarding the naming convetion on the ZIII: From my analysis of the katakana for this MS, ZIII is said "Zeta Third". That being the case, rather than "zeissa", a more likely romanization would probably be "Zether". To wit: "Zeta" is written/pronounced with a long "zeh" followed by ta" -- there's you...

I don't know, to me they look like SEED and SRW had a kid when no one was looking. Although I am interested as to why they haven't shown a GN-004 yet. Well, considering that SRW covers absolutely every design aesthetic and approach that there is... Any mecha design at all is gonna bear some resembl...

I'm just sad that UC Gundam won't live on in anime (only manga and novels). *sniff* Now now, Tach... I didn't say we'll never get new Universal Century ANIME, just that we won't get new Universal Century TELEVISION SHOWS. We've been getting new UC anime in the form of Gundam Evolve, MS Igloo, video...

Gundam OO mecha designs - my thoughts

Hey all. I figured I'd post a rant-like "review" of the new designs for Double O. Like anyone cares... 8) First thing I will say is that I am THRILLED that the new crop of Gundams were NOT designed by Okawara. Overall, I like these designs quite a bit -- the more I look at them, the more they grow o...

I'm glad there's a new Gundam series and it looks interesting but... When are they going to find the backbone required to further the UC setting? In a TV series? Never. I think Bandai & Sunrise have clearly decided that new Gundam TV shows are for bringing in new viewers. That means that new Gundam...
