This news about Volks is very depressing to read, just as I'm coming back from Thanksgiving vacation. :( On the one hand, it's good for my wallet... as FSS kit collecting is always a bit of a financial burden. And with less kits to think about buying, I can focus more and more on building what I alr...

It's really a pity that he's closed his FSS gallery. I always enjoyed seeing his new works.

Oh well, I'm glad I have all his pics saved to my HD at home... Too bad we won't get to see galleries of his new stuff though.

Hmm... 1/100 Gastness DID look good. Too bad it doesn't seem to have ever made it into the hands of recasters. I guess it was such a nice kit, no one wanted to sacrifice it after they got it. :)

Gastness looked a lot better than, say, the Heavy Cross... which DID make it to recast...

I really don't like the old 1/100 Wave plastic KOG. Like John said, a lot of the detail was lazily done with decals. Not unlike the 1/144 Wave plastic KOG in some ways... But yeah, the ENTIRE top of the head was done as a decal. Bleah. Volks GGI is way way better. GGI is all sculpted detail, no deca...

Well, the ideas put forth seem reasonble, I don't see anything I disagree with... Maybe I missed something though... what was the point of marking some as a 'scholar'? Just so people asking questions know that statements coming from said 'scholars' can be trusted to be well informed and accurate? I'...

Saying recasts cost little more than an mg kit and saying its suitable for entry level, then comparing it to the ex-s is a little silly considering that the ex-s is the most expensive mg ever, I said 1/100 recasts cost little more than a MG Ex-S. I ALSO said that 1/144 recasts cost little more than...

I'm not too concerned with fixing up my plastic LED. I've purchased a replacement copy of the kit.Though it's doubtful I'll ever build it... I have it more for collection purposes. I'd rather focus building efforts on my resin LEDs. I still have 4 MM LEDs, 3 different WSC LEDs, and my V3s to work on...

I think recasts are suitable as 'entry level' kits. A lot of the basic recast 1/100 kits cost little more than a large MG kit like the Ex-S, and if you can find a recast 1/144 kit, they don't cost much more than a mid-range MG. Once a person gets some experience with affordable recasts, he/she can t...

You know... something happened with my 1/100 Wave LED. I built it very competently, and for a time, it held a pose just fine. But somehow the passage of time has weakened almost all the joints, and now it's a giant floppy mess that can NOT stand up at all. And no, I did not weaken the joints through...

You'll have to count me in as another person who does not want to see FSS go mainstream, and does not want companies to produce a lot of new plastic kits. When FSS is not mainstream, people who like FSS genuinely like the product for what it is, and are willing to take the effort to find FSS materia...

hey, I just called San Jose Kino, and they don't have copies of 25 and 26 yet... and they said they aren't in their database, so they don't know when they will get them.

Has anyone seen copies at other Kinos?

Re: Dec '04 Newtype Magazine Scans

Oooh, the last page shows the cover of Factories 2001-2004! Looks like it has some coverage of Tani's 1/144 KOG, among other things... Rubel Colus has kindly submitted scans for the December Newtype Magazine that show the further adventures of Wascha Codante. Thank you, Rubel! http://www.gearsonline...

Re: English volumes 25, 26 released

English volumes 25 and 26 are out eh? That's good news. They really are releasing new issues pretty fast now.

We'll be caught up through vol 11 very very soon.

Sounds like something I should buy as well. Anyone heard if the Factories 2001 - 2004 book is any good?

If you mean the Wave 1/100.... no I did not get it. I'm not really interested since it's exactly the same thing as the old Wave 1/100, except with semi-clear plastic and some new decals. I already have both the Volks LED V3, Volks LED Napalm, and Silicon Tribe LED V3, so a clear Wave LED isn't too a...
