Re: Kurogane no Line Barrels

Tachyon:

Each manga volume has a full-color mecha splash page in the front, and clean black-and-white sketches in the "liner notes" section at the back. I now have all twelve current volumes, so we're good to go on that count. I'll see about scanning a couple of sketches for you here this week.

There don't seem to be many mecha-girls for FSS, but those that are out there are PURE WIN.

Re: Gundam Unicorn anime is coming this winter.

I wouldn't expect an artbook until January at the earliest. That said, you can probably find the novel with its illustrations at HLJ or one of the other purveyors of Japanese books.

Re: Ride Back

Yeah, and I'm groovin' on it. It's easily one of the best shows this season (and this is a good season for SF/mecha shows). It's back to the good formula of the growth of the heroine from her starting point, into something much greater. The show also slowly reveals the world of the 2020's, and the n...

Re: What source are these from?

Did you grab the images?

All that's there now at those links are 404's, and a shitload of catgirls where ii-chan's mecha page should be.

I might be able to help if I can see the images...

Milk and cookies keeping you up at night, Sebastian?
(Blade Runner joke...:-))

Seriously - your work has improved this year. I really like the texturing on this piece. Also, your work feels less sketchy, your designs more fully realized.

Great work! I'm excited to see what comes next!

Yeah, it is a tad confusing. But, if you look at that last sequence again, the reporter looks back and *thinks* she sees Fukai; she looks again, and sees that Bukhar is alone. Fukai and Yukikaze had the controls for all the FlipKnight nukes. The only way to close the gate was to lead all the FlipKni...

Glad you liked it! Yukikaze really has to be taken for what it is: a love triangle between two guys and a fighter jet AI. Even after repeat viewings, it's hard to tell whether Yukikaze was somehow influenced by its encounters with the JAM, or whether it's just a smart cookie. I'll probably never kno...

Indeed. One of the things mentioned, which makes me very happy, is the fact that some if not all of the power for the elevator could be generated by the structure itself. I had the pleasure of speaking with a nanotechnologist at a party a year or so ago here in Logan. We talked about carbon nanotube...

I just had somebody ask me about getting the translated FSS manga. Sadly, I had to dash his hopes with the news that it's out of print, and that finding them would be a life's journey. I'm all in favor of making scans available on the 'Net. Obviously, neither Toys Press nor Kadokawa care about sales...

Hey! I've been very happy with every purchase I've made from beNippon. It's a group of (apparently) French guys in Japan who are running the business. What I really like about them is their "can-do" attitude, coupled with a strong knowledge of what they're making on the deal, i.e., they know that du...

I agree, Tachyon -- the show rocked! Having never played the game (don't do videogames), I didn't have anything to be disappointed about. I was very happy with the CGI - no, it wasn't what it could have been, but it very rarely is unless one has a monster budget. That said, it wasn't any worse than ...
